The melatonin, the no-screens rule, the white noise machine.

Yet here you are, wide awake at 3 AM, doing the math on how many hours you have left.

Falling asleep feels impossible. Staying asleep feels even harder, and you’ve run out of ideas on how to fix it.

How We Treat Insomnia at Mind Oasis Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)

CBT-I is the most effective treatment for chronic insomnia. It works by identifying and changing the thoughts, behaviors, and sleep habits that are quietly keeping insomnia going. It’s not about forcing sleep. It’s about working with your brain instead of against it, so rest starts to feel natural again.

Each week, you’ll track your sleep using a sleep log. This gives you and your insomnia therapist personalized data to work with. It helps identify what’s working, what isn’t, and where to adjust, so your insomnia therapy is built around your sleep, not a generic protocol.

We’ll take a close look at the habits, behaviors, and environmental factors that may be quietly making falling asleep and staying asleep harder, and work together to shift them in a way that fits your life.

Together, we’ll work on the racing thoughts, the worry spirals, and the mental effort around sleep that tend to make everything harder, so you can start approaching bedtime with less dread and more ease.

Owner & Clinical Director

What I tell my clients:

“The most important thing in therapy isn't the techniques, it's trust. You need a space where you can explain your complex emotions and experiences without feeling judged. That's where healing begins, and that's what I'm here to create with you.”

Life shapes us in ways we didn’t choose, and sometimes that leaves us as a version of ourselves we don’t want to be anymore. That’s where therapy can help.

At Mind Oasis Therapy, sessions with Ashleigh feel less like a list of instructions and more like a candid conversation with someone who cares. Together, you’ll work through what’s holding you back, build useful skills, and grow into the version of yourself that makes you feel proud.

Think of us as your oasis in the desert; a place to rest, refuel, and find what you need to keep going.

Our Approach

How Our Sleep Therapy Works

Step 1: Assess Your Sleep

We start by getting a clear picture of your sleep history, patterns, and what you've already tried. Every week, we'll check in on how your sleep has been so we can track progress and adjust as we go.

Step 2: Build Your CBT-I Plan

Together, we'll create a structured, personalized plan built around your specific sleep patterns and lifestyle. The first six weeks are the most intensive, with weekly sessions designed to create real, lasting change.

Step 3: Leave With Action

You won't leave a session empty-handed. Every week, you'll walk away with clear, actionable steps to put into practice before we meet again, so the progress keeps building between sessions.

Questions About Sleep Therapy

Still have questions?
We're here for them.

You might be dealing with a sleep disorder if you’re:

  • Taking longer than 30 minutes to fall asleep
  • Waking up 3+ times during the night
  • Having difficulty staying asleep until morning
  • Feeling fatigued throughout the day
  • Struggling to concentrate or make decisions
  • Feeling more irritable than usual
  • Waking up not feeling rested, or falling asleep at undesired times during the day.

If you’re experiencing a combination of these, therapy for insomnia may be exactly what you need.

It does, and the research is clear. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is the gold standard for insomnia help, and it’s been shown to be more effective than medication. Together, you and your sleep therapist in Texas look at the factors contributing to your sleep issues and work to improve your sleep drive, using your own sleep data to track progress and adjust your sleep habits as we go.

You can, and it can offer quick short-term relief. But medication puts a bandage over the problem without addressing what’s actually driving it. It can also have side effects, inconsistent effectiveness, and create long-term dependence.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) works differently. It reorients your brain to the sleep it needs by bringing your thoughts, behaviors, and sleep patterns back into alignment. It takes a few weeks and requires you to put in the work between sessions, but the results target the root cause and are built to last, which is something medication simply can’t promise.

You can find a lot of information about CBT-I on your own, but sleep is more complex than it looks. A therapist trained in CBT-I can identify patterns in your sleep logs that you might miss, personalize your treatment for chronic insomnia to what’s keeping you awake, and keep you accountable week to week. Having someone in your corner who can pivot your plan when something isn’t working makes a real difference.

Completely. CBT-I is non-invasive, drug-free, and considered the safest treatment for chronic insomnia. There are no side effects, and the results tend to keep improving even after treatment ends.

CBT-I is highly effective for most people, but it isn’t the right fit for everyone. At this time, therapy for insomnia using CBT-I is not recommended for those with Bipolar Disorder (Type 1 or 2), a current Substance Use Disorder, or a psychotic disorder. If you’re unsure whether CBT-I for insomnia is right for you, reach out, and we can talk it through together.

This is one of the most common presentations we see. Even when the original trigger has resolved, insomnia often sticks around because patterns and sleep-related anxiety have set in. CBT-I is designed specifically to address those patterns, and it works well alongside treatment for anxiety, trauma, and depression.

Some people do experience a temporary dip in sleep early in treatment, particularly during sleep restriction. It’s a normal part of the process and a sign your brain is recalibrating. We’ll walk you through it every step of the way so you know exactly what to expect and why.

Both. CBT-I is effective for short-term and long-standing insomnia. Many clients at Mind Oasis Therapy have been struggling for decades before finding us. The length of time you’ve had insomnia shapes the plan, but it doesn’t determine whether CBT-I can help.

CBT-I research shows that meaningful change typically happens after around 10 weeks of weekly sessions. That said, most clients at Mind Oasis Therapy start noticing consistent improvement around the five-week mark. From there, insomnia therapy sessions taper to every two, three, or four weeks for a few more check-ins to make sure progress holds. It’s a short-term, high-impact treatment for chronic insomnia with results that are built to last.
